Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” – John 4:10
Thirsty for Living Water is a group of Christian women blogging to encourage one another by asking questions and sharing what God is speaking to them. We are thirsty to drink the living water from Jesus that “will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” John 4:14. We find this living water in reading God’s word.
- Each Wednesday we post a new reading assignment from the Bible. Throughout the week we write about what we are learning from the reading assignment. Anyone is welcome to study God’s Word with us and comment on the discussions!
Our Beginning
This blog is birthed out of a womens group studying the book of Romans in the Fall of 2009 at River City Community Church. Each week we were assigned a chapter of Romans to read and journal each day of the week. When we got together we had so many questions and amazing things God is speaking to us.
During one of the discussions Amanda received a picture of how God is working in us. We are all in a rock tumbler as gray and jagged rocks, but as we asked questions and shared our stories we hit one another smoothing our jagged edges. God is turning us into beautiful stones! It is like the bible verse that says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 We need to listen and speak to other Christians as we walk out our faith.
Our meetings to study Romans in person came to an end, but we continue our discussion and invite others to join us through this blog.
